The name Wampas is taken from a Marx Brothers comedy routine. If you listen to Petite fille in reverse, you can clearly hear 'Tie A Yellow Ribbon Round the Ole Oak Tree' by Tony Orlando and Dawn. Diabolical! I have a few reservations about Petite fille (like why the long harpsicord solos on several tracks)... but it remains very french music. As if by chance, lots of young men happened to have beards during the 1990s.
